One of the top places to get inked in Midland, Impression Ink has been around for over 30 years. Opened in the summer of 1983 by Christian LaMont, the shop started out as a meeting spot for those wanting to get tattooed. Midland, Texas was a small town and tattoos were for older men, veterans of the military usually. Business remianed steady and picked up in the 1990s. The parlor's reputation never wavered and Christian was able to let his staff sort of run his business, priding himself on finding the best artists in town. Around 2000, the shop expanded and started including piercings. It's now a full-service tattoo parlor boasting clean lines, original art, and tattoo artists who take pride in their work. The shop does piercings, merchandise, and has a special place boasting local artists that change on a monthly basis.
The location itself is a small building, nestled just outside of Midland's Main Street, located almost right next door to The 44 Club. It's a long building with reception taking up the entire front of the building. Tattoo stations are nestled on the right side of the building and are mostly closed off by the merchandise counter. A piercing station and two sketching stations are on the left side, behind reception. The back of the building is split into two different rooms; a break room that holds a small kitchenette and lounge, as well as an office that is equiped with a desk, two chairs, shelves, and a bank of moniters that feed back what the cameras see. The entire place is rigged with cameras and everything is kept on a harddrive with only the owner having access. OWNER:
